Historic interior of Inglesham church, Wiltshire, England. The building is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. Much of the current fabric of the church is 13th century, its origins are older dating back to Anglo- Saxon. A planned Victorian major restoration project in the 1880s was resisted by William Morris. Morris ensured that the church kept its original medieval identity. The box pews are the original from the 17th and 18th century. Layers of paintings from early medieval onwards cover the walls, in places seven layers thick. It is a building of national significance.
